Deep Tissue Massage: Produces effective, long
lasting relief of chronic muscular tension, soft tissue pain and dysfuntion.
The intent is to affect the deeper structures of the musculo-skeletal system
by breaking up patterns or force-lines of muscular tension. It involves
direct pressure, muscle stripping strokes, and friction which is going
across the grain of the muscle by using fingers, thumb, or elbow.
People seeking this type of therapy generally know that it is truly the
"after-effects" you are trying to achieve or the long lasting results!
"Aaah... it hurts so... good!
Goals for Deep Tissue Massage
-
To release soft tissue tension and pain due to stress, over exertion or
injury
-
To break-up chronic muscular pain patterns or force-lines, (example): shooting
pain starting at the hip and radiating down the leg.
-
To release and restore elasticity in the fascia.
-
To balance muscle function and awareness.
-
To realign posture and movement patterns.
"When I am working on a client, I use a method called the scale system."
The scale system goes (1-10), (1) would be the least amount of pain and
(10) the most. Using this scale system, I apply pressure gradually to a
tight area until resistance is met. This is usually a (5-6) on the scale
system. I monitor very closely with each person for the appropriate amount
of pressure."

Sports Massage: Will help you do
what you do better, longer, and more easily, raising your performance level
at the same time that you lower the stress level it places on your body.
Sports Massage is usually briefer in duration and more vigorous than a
Swedish
Massage.
Goals for Sports Massage
-
To extend your athletic life span
-
Restore mobility to injured muscle tissue
-
Boost athletic performance and endurance
-
Prevent injuries and loss of mobility
-
Speed up recovery time between workouts.

Injury Management:
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"! Just as the
saying goes, most athletes don't realize that they are setting themselves
up for injury months before they actually feel a problem area. During training,
athletes develop muscle spasms, contractures, due to dehydration, trauma
to the muscle or fatigue. Once you feel a problem in a muscle it's already
a full-fledged injury! So the moral to this story is "Sports Massage can
catch these problem areas before they're able to develop into an injury."

Onsen Tecnique: I use a method called the
"Onsen Technique" (onsen is a Japanese term which loosely translates to
mean "at peace" or "at rest") implies balance and harmony between all of
the body's systems on all planes. This method to aligning a client's structure
uses muscle energy technique and hold relax stretching.

Swedish Massage: Uses techniques of flushing,
gliding and kneading strokes towards the heart. It is used to promote relaxation,
improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension.
"Aaah it feels so good! Better known as "Fluff Massage"
